Beer is a friend of pork in general, whether you’re using as a marinade or cooking with it. Light beers are best paired with lighter dishes or simply used as a refreshing beverage. For the perfect pork pairing, we recommend a hoppy or rich ale, especially with slightly richer dishes like ribs, bacon, ham or sausage. For an intense flavor porter-style beers often make a good match. Ultimately finding the perfect pairing depends on your taste buds – so feel free to experiment with your fave beers!

Taste of Scan Beer and Mustard Pork Ribeye Steak
● 330ml Bottle of lager Beer
● 3 Green Onions, both white and green parts, chopped
60ml Whole Grain Mustard
● 60ml Molasses
● 10ml Canola Oil
● 1 tsp Salt
● 1 tsp Hot Sauce (your preference)

This marinade will cover up to approx 360g of Pork.

Whisk all of the ingredients together till the molasses is dissolved. Add your Pork Ribeye Steak to a shallow pan and pour the well-blended marinade mixture on top. Cover well and refrigerate for 2 to 10 hours, flip chops once or twice during the marinating time if possible. Remove chops from marinade and grill over medium heat until the internal temperature reaches 65 degrees Celsius (approx 145 degrees Fahrenheit) followed by a 3-minute rest time. Discard any remaining marinade.

This Pulled Pork recipe is perfect for serving to your family, for hosting a party or for those who simply enjoy having leftovers for several days. Using a slow cooker is perfect for those very busy workdays, but you can also use a grill or an oven. If you choose to not use a slow cooker, let your pork marinate in the spice rub for a couple hours before cooking.

Taste of Scan Pulled Pork
● 900 grams Taste of Scan Porkloin
● 1 tbsp. brown sugar
● 1 tsp. Each paprika, cumin, and salt
● 1/2 tsp. Each cayenne pepper and black pepper
● 1 small white onion, sliced
● 3 tbsp. garlic
● 330ml. bottle of good-quality beer

Combine brown sugar, paprika, cumin, salt, cumin, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over your pork loin. Line bottom of slow cooker with onions and garlic and place your spice-rubbed pork loin on top. Carefully pour beer around the sides of your slow cooker, taking care not to “wash” the spices off your meat. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. When your pork is done cooking, open your slow cooker and use two forks to shred
the meat. Serve immediately on your favorite bread or bun, paired with a zesty coleslaw of your choice.
